Farleigh Hungerford Castle
Farleigh Hungerford Castle began construction in 1369 and remained in the hands of the Hungerford family until 1686. By the 18th century the castle was no longer lived in and fell into disrepair. The castle chapel was repaired in 1779 and in 1915 Farleigh Hungerford Castle was sold to the Office of Works and a controversial restoration programme began. It is now owned by English Heritage, who operate it as a tourist attraction, and the castle is a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
The castle is reputedly haunted by the apparition of Lady Agnes Hungerford She is said to appear near the chapel.

Farleigh Hungerford is a village in Somerset, England.
It is situated 9 miles southeast of Bath, 3.5 miles west of Trowbridge on A366, in the valley of the River Frome.
